Tomato Dumplings
Peel, core and dice about 6 fresh from the garden tomatoes (can use a can of diced tomatoes in winter)

Cook tomatos with a little water until hot and bubbly, add salt, pepper and a little bacon grease.

Mix one cup of flour, salt to taste, and enough milk to make a thick dough (similar to bisquit dough).

Let sit and rise, then stir back down (this makes a chewy dumpling, not fat and fluffy) and drop by the teaspoonfuls into hot tomatoes, cooking until dumplings are done.

Alot of people add sugar to their tomato dumplings, but my grandmother said they were not "fittin to throw to the dogs" with sugar in them!
