Blair Mountain Cabin (side view) Burgess family who lived in the cabin and took care of the Fire Tower area circa 1940's. Photo supplied by Judith Burgess Cassie People identified as Goldie Albright Burgess, Arland(red) Burgess, Judith Burgess Cassie, David Odell Burgess, Dannie Burgess, and Richard Burgess.  All the boys were born in this cabin as well as one other not born at the time this was taken (circa 1948.)

Hello, my name is Judith Burgess..when I was young ( in the 40's) we lived on Blair mountain..my 4 brothers were born in the log cabin on Blair mountain...my Mother and Father took care of the fire tower...I remember the big rock in front of the fire tower..it had a big bronze plate that told of the war on Blair mountain..I rode the consolidaded bus to Ethel to go to school. One of my brothers is just about gone and we were looking at the pictures and talking about when we were kids up there..is the tower  and rock still there? I was told the log cabin burned down is that true? I would love to know what happened up on the MOUNTAIN...thank you for taking the time to read this and any information you would care to send..
